Increasing Area and Productivity of rice in tribal belt of South Gujarat
134 / 47
Abstract
By the successful introduction of High yielding varieties of rice, the whole district of Tapi has started an interest to espouse HYVs in rice as a replacement for conventional varieties. This effort has cemented the way to introduce seed village concept in rice itself. Four adopted villages of this KVK had been recognised as fully self-sufficient rice seed villages and also supplied rice seed to the adjacent villages. The apparent impact of this programme can be seen in the form of raising the standard of living of the tribal people.Downloads
