Abstract

Organic seed production through organic farming is quite an old practice followed in India. Over the years, demand is rising for certified organic farmers, due to consumer’s preference for organically grown produce over inorganically produced. Although, a lot has been done in the area of organic seed production but still it requires a lot of improvement to maintain the production and quality of organic seed. The organic seed production industry needs a strong support from all sides be it government or scientific institutions to continue in this endeavour.
