Chitosan : a potent elicitor in plant defense reactions
106 / 110
Abstract
Chitosan coatings have emerged as a recent ideal alternative to chemically synthesized pesticides. And it is interesting to note that chitosan activity showed to be fungi static against both biotrophic and necrotrophic pathogens. Moreover, chitosan nano-particles based technology has a promising future with high value in crop production for attaining sustainable agriculture in an eco-friendly ways. Thus, the application of chitosan as elicitors may be considered as a promising prospect in enhancing the production of biologically active phytoalexins and other secondary metabolites as defense responses.Downloads
