Abstract

Seven bacterial pathogenic strains were used i.e. E. coli ATCC 25922, L. monocytogenes ATCC 15303,  B. cereus ATCC 13061, S. typhi   NCTC  6017, E.   faecalis MTCC 439, S. aureus (AIIMS), Pseudomonas sp. (AIIMS). These pathogens were tested for antibiotics resistance pattern against selected indicator microorganism with selected antibiotics by disc assay method. Each microorganism was resistant to more than two antibiotics. Selected Lactobacills culture i.e. Lb. acidophilus, Lb. casei, Lb. paracasei spp. paracasei, Lb. rhamnosus, Lb. fermentum exhibited zone of inhibitions against the selected pathogens. Antibiotics resistant pathogens tested with whey fermented concentrate showed antimicrobial activity against antibiotics resistant pathogens. Whey fermentate were prépared at different time intervals i.e. 24, 48, 72 hrs and fermentation of 48hrs, showed good antimicrobial activity. However, fermentation at 100 rpm exhibited good antimicrobial activity against selected pathogens.
